Desktop App

The ShipCode desktop app is the primary way to run the pipeline. It’s an Electron + Vite + React 19 app built on top of the same packages/pipeline state machine that powers the CLI, with a rich UI for watching pipelines, triaging issues, scheduling automation, inspecting worktrees, editing settings, and reviewing plans and costs.

Install

brew tap shipshitdev/tap brew install --cask shipcode

Or run from source:

bun install bun run dev

See Getting Started for prerequisites and first-pipeline walkthrough.

On first import of a GitHub-backed repository, ShipCode creates a small starter issue so the project has a safe first pipeline target immediately.

Layout

The app has a fixed left sidebar with projects, a top titlebar, a main content area, and a collapsible terminal drawer at the bottom. The sidebar contains shortcut entries to each of the global views:

SectionWhat it does
OverviewDashboard across all projects — running agents, pending approvals, recent work, time-to-PR analytics
ActivityTimeline of phase transitions, PRs, failures, automations, and notifications
InboxTriage queue for failed, verification-exhausted, and awaiting-approval threads
CostsPer-thread and per-project token + USD aggregation
AutomationsCron-like scheduled prompts that launch pipeline runs for a project
Skills EditorEdit the PRD / plan / review / verify prompt skills
Project detailIssues, Git, Code, Pull Requests, Insights, and Terminal tabs for one project

Per-project views

Inside a project, the main content area switches between:

ViewWhat it does
Issues / Kanban BoardPhase-column board plus dense list mode for dragging issues through the pipeline, running board review, and auto-running Backlog work
List viewSame data as Kanban, flattened into phase-grouped sections (toggle from the Kanban header)
GitWorktree/branch visualizer, diff viewer, AI split auto-commit, cleanup
CodeRead-only source and worktree browser with syntax highlighting and diff mode
Pull RequestsOpen/closed PR list with review status, checks, and detail panel
InsightsProject activity heatmap, tokens, spend, runs, and PR counts
TerminalProject terminal tab plus bottom drawer for live agent output
Issue detailOverlay that shows the full issue PRD, generated plan, review round history, diff, and full-screen Plan Viewer

Settings

The Settings panel covers General, Integrations, GitHub, Notifications, Pipeline, Auto-commit, Shortcuts, Archived, Developer, and About. The per-project Project Settings modal covers repo setup, runtime QA, GitHub Projects sync, phase model overrides, pipeline behavior, memory/context generation, and chat routing.
